Dialogue with Identity

Dialogue with Identity @ 4PM.

Hi, ego-created-identity called “past-me”, you are looking lovely all tied up in your ravishing black silk gown, studded with Saturn’s sapphires, and tears dazzling your eyes.  I love you, and have known you for years, but we are officially breaking up. You are no longer welcome in my inner sanctum.  NOW at 4:44Pm on July 5, 2012, I can breathe without your weight, dance, and harmonize with the present. NOW,  I write your story as if I never lived it, but merely watched you create yourself.

“Who am I” Practice

Next time, you practice yoga, sit in meditation, or go out into nature, ask yourself  “Who am I?” See what answer(s) shows itself. See where the mind goes. Is any of it real? See if you can touch that answer? Practice with your eyes closed. See where you go? Keep asking “Who am I?” And, don’t be afraid. Realize if in the moment an emotion shows itself with fiery eyes called anxiety, sadness, anger, happy… you are not that emotion. Let it be in its day-dreamy world of emotion.

“Discover all you are not. Body, feelings,
thoughts, ideas, time, space, being and not-being, this or that,
nothing concrete or abstract you can point out to is you. A mere
verbal statement will not do, you may repeat a formula endlessly
without any result whatsoever. You must watch your self continuously,
particularly your mind, moment by moment, missing nothing. This
witnessing is essential for the separation of the self from the not-
self.”
