St. Francis

St. Francis
arrives
his birds whistling
your voice,
like an angel arriving
on my doorstep
like a white feather
left in my heart
delicately landing
St. Francis
arrives
like marigold garlands around doorways
greeting us
with goldenrod flames to set this journey on fire
like a promise made
between two palms
who know the crevices and lines of
each others.
